Sunday, September 20 2026 was a special ride day. Four Bravehearts left Kinsol Trestle Glen Eagles Parking lot a 10:30am along the Trans Canada Trail (TCT) bound for Glenora Staging Area.

Bill rode to Grant's home from where Grant transported him and their bikes in his truck to Bruce's home downtown Victoria. The Three Amigos then met Ken at Kinsol who had his own vehicle.

---

The Cowichan Station Creamery (CSC) Charity Event ride was proposed by Bruce who had ridden it in previous years.

---

Four restless riders then cycled the 15km to Glenora arriving at 11:30am. Each donated $20 and registered for the Prize Draw to be held at 3pm

---

The designated route to CSC was posted as TCT (east) to Mountain Rd. to Howie Rd. which the foursome took.

---

he After arriving at CSC and a few phot-ops, Bruce suggested the four make a loop out of their return ride by cycling Koksilah Rd. to near Miller Rd to avoid the 100m gain hill going back via Mountain Rd.

---

Bill knew of the Tidewater Subdivition Trail (TWS) from Koksilah Rd. straight up to the TCT within 2km from Glenora Staging Area.

None of the others knew about the TWS trail and were thrilled on their first ride by its interest and ridability

---

Upon our arrival at Glenora the 3pm prize draw saw both Ken and Grant win prizes. Goodonya lads.

After riding the 15km back to Kinsol we were home in Victoria by 6pm

---

Thanks to Grant for transporting Bill and Bruce in his truck and to Ken for making it on his own.

Bravehearts take Willis Rd. to Langford 9/16/26
 

Wednesday's Braveheart's ride was awesome!

Four riders led by Ken headed out from the SB at 10am NW bound along the Galloping Goose Trail (GGT)

---

Ken took one of his favourite, circuitous routes to get us to the Red Barn Market

---

From here was left onto Willis Point Rd and up-and-over to Millsteam Rd. in Langford

---

Janice drove one of Grant's trucks out to pick up the bike with a flat tire

---

That left Bruce and Bill to finish the 53km loop back home in Victoria by 1:30pm

CVRT South from Mt. Brenton Golf Course
 

 

Plan-A, Saturday September 12was to drive the Merc with bike attached to Mt. Brenton Golf Course parking lot in Chemainus, BC and cycle with Ken and Jerry to Ladysmith BC for lunch at Oyster Bay.

Plan-B, for Bill was to stop off at a couple of locations-of-interest along the way.

---

First stop was Cowichan Station Creamery (CSC) on Howie Rd just off Koksilah Rd from Hwy-1

---

CSC is a planned destination for Bravehearts to participate in a charity bike ride from Glenora Staging Area, Sunday, September 20.

---

Thanks to Bruce for drawing this CSC, worthwhile event to our attention.

---

All registrations and donations ($20 cash only) take place at Glenora so one can start anywhere one chooses but must include a stop at Glenora.

---

This just adds to the fun as Grant came up with a great plan to start from the Kinsol Trestle parking lot on Glen Eagles Rd.

---

Starting at Kinsol parking saves driving over the Malahat and what would be a much longer drive.

---

The preferred route from the organizers is not published so Bill stopped in at CSC to check out his proposed route.

---

From Kinsol to Glenora then back to Mountain Rd. to Howie Rd (and CSC) then back to Kinsol parking is approximately 55km

---

Bill drove the 7km length from CSC of Mountain Rd. to the Trans Canada Trail (TCT) and the gain is some 100m (330ft.)

---

Bill's next stop was Mt. Brenton parking but by 10:20am no one else arrived so Bill left to clear a single-track trail along the Tidewater Subdivision Rail Trail (TWS).

---

While at TWS Ken and Jerry WhatsApped Bill to say their ride to Ladysmith was off due to bicycle battery issues.

---

This was different than planned but an integral part of what we call Life — deal with it.

Bravehearts Ride to Erie St. (the long way) 9/5/26

 


Saturday 9-5-26 seven Bravehearts and one guest rider hit out from the Switch Bridge at 10:10am for Imagine Studio Cafe on Erie St. in James Bay.

As is his habit, Ken led us on a most interesting and circuitous route starting NW bound along the Galloping Goose Trail (GGT).

---

The route was: Galloping Goose Trail to Camden Ave then Helmcken to Holland Ave. right onto Blue Ridge Rd through Rosedale Park then Sant Rosa Rd to cross Helmcken to Hatfield Rd. Xing Chesterfield Rd changes name to Zinnia Rd. then left (E) at Tulip Ave. left onto marigold then Interurban Rd to enter Colquitz River Park and track Rolston Crescent to Nora Place into Colquitz Creek Park trail again passing under both Hwy-1 bridges into Cuthbert Holms Park along Colquitz Connector East exiting over the bridge at Dysart Rd left onto Gorge Rd.W down Tillicum Rd left onto Selkirk Ave through Banfield Park exiting down Raynor to the Galloping Goose Trail then through downtown Victoria to Erie Street Cafe.

Some found the ride through the entirety of Cuthbert Holmes Park the highlight of the entire 38km roundtrip ride.

Thanks to Larry for leading us to another suitable cafe to enjoy our break and the associated bakery goodies.

Bravehearts Wednesday Ride 9-2-26 video

Grant led us on a Bravehearts' Wednesday ride out to Jordie Lunn Bike Park in Langford

Between him and Ken it was a most interesting and scenic route out bound

Leaving the Switch Bridge at 10:20am we headed to downtown Victoria to join the E&N Rail Trail

---

After arriving at 4-Mile Bridge we swung left into Portage Park

---

Our route from Portage Park to Old Island Highway was: View Royal Ave right onto Beaumont Ave left onto View Royal Ave (again westbound) past Helmcken Ave then across Bessborough Ave then cross Heddle Ave then View Royal Ave passes Tovey Crs on the left and continues on to Palmer Station which changes name to Gibraltar Bay Drive that then swings downhill along Knollwod to the Old Island Highway at the intersection of Kislingbury Lane. From here it was on the DH to Atkins Station along the Galloping Goose Trail just west from the 10km Marker.

This is where the amazing architectural design and detail were observed in the houses there. They are NOT viewable from Goggle-streetviews because it is a private development.

Once through Langford along the E&N Rail Trail is was into Ed Nixon Trail in behind Langford Lake

---

Just past the fishing dock we turned right to get onto Langford Parkway then Meridian and Irwin Rd. to Jordie Lunn Bike Park

---

Here we took our break before heading back home along the E&N to Galloping Goose Trail at Mill Creek.

It was a great 50km loop ride from home. Thanks to Grant for initiating it and Ken for his trail knowledge.
