Thursday we walked around Cedar Hill Golf Course after recovering from the colds and flu-like symptoms that have kept us off the trail for some weeks.

We had lunch at MexiGo; Enchilada and salad. It's sure good food at MexiGo.

While in the Broadmead shopping Centre we watch the workers finish off the felling of a large tree located in the parking lot.

That's about all the excitement we could take for one day.

Thursday we walked 4200m around Cedar Hill Park chiptrail.

We saw crazy in the parking lot as we passed through as we started the north end of the trail. She was driving in her vehicle to the clubhouse which is part of her routine. She leaves her two dogs unattended in her vehicle while she goes into the foyer and talks with the office receptionist over the counter. We waited for her to enter the building before proceeding with our walk as we did not want to give her the opportunity to fabricate more lies about harassing her and reporting us (again) to SPD.

Monday we walked 2½ miles around Cedar Hill Golf Course under sunny skies. After a later ten o'clock start, we found it kind of warm. Crazy was inside talking to the receptionist when we passed by on our way to the restroom. She said nothing (this time).

Afterward, we shopped the store and C was there on his day off -- such loyalty. We stopped at his house on the way home and checked his BT on my phone. No joy.

After having lunch at home, we returned and gave him the receipt for Yates St. so he can deal with it.

Rather than CO2 it is water that drives climate.

Question: Do human emissions (anthropogenic) of CO2 create sea level rise? Answer: no

Question: Will the seas become acid? Answer: no.

Question: Does sea level rise kill coral atolls? Answer: no.

Question: Are humans forcing changes to ocean currents? Answer: no.

Sea level changes over 600 meters have occurred in the past. Sea level fall kills coral reefs. Not only does sea level rise and fall, the land level rises and falls, the volume of the ocean basins changes and the ocean basins change in shape and depth. Gravity also changes sea level.

Some parts of the world are sinking for example Eastern England and the Netherlands; others are rising e.g., Scandinavia and Scotland, and others are not changing e.g., Northwest Alaska. These combined sea, land and ocean basin changes make accurate measurements of the sea level change very difficult.

Sea levels have been rising since the last glaciation ended and reached a maximum 6000 years ago. There has been no noted acceleration of sea level rise amid the period of industrialization.

If humans burned all of the fossil fuels on Earth, atmospheric CO2 content would not even double. A very slight change in any one of a number of natural systems would swamp any CO2 additions by humans (anthropogenic) to the atmosphere.

The surface of the Earth is more than 70% water, evaporation is the regulator of global climate. Evaporation and increase in exchange of latent heat between the ocean and atmosphere increase nearly exponentially with the surface temperature of water. Increased exchange of latent heat energy for a very small temperature rise (3ºC.) is more than enough to offset a doubling of atmospheric CO2.

The oceans and the atmosphere are nonlinear, chaotic, turbulent systems from bottom to top. We try to understand such systems in incomplete computer models.

Nature does not play computer games.

Friday we walked 4200m around Cedar Hill Golf Course under overcast skies (at least to start).

We were suited up in some winter gear with hats and headbands at a freezing 10°C. Then the sun came out and within the hour we put the winter gear back in the limo and continued the other half in shirt-sleeves. Like they say: "If you don't like the weather wait five-minutes."

We talked with Janis on the trail and they've been up to Ruxton Island but now John is nursing a bad hip -- no walking and no cycling for a while.

Cameron and Michelle gave us a gift certificate at Christmas for Il Greco Restaurant so we had lunch there. Their baked spaghetti is the best!

Walter phoned me while in the car and stated he had NOT made arrangements for us to pick him up and take him to his eye appointment on Thursday. That's Walter.

The Gardeners Plaque Gets Resurrected

Since being installed in 2010, the plaque dedicated to two Cedar Hill Golf Course gardeners for planting a tree (presumably what gardeners are paid to do) has seen some neglect. For the past few years, the stone upon which the plaque is mounted, was turned 180º and pushed so far under the tree as to be almost invisible. Recently, someone took it upon themselves to resurrect the monument to its former position.

On a personal note, I find this somewhat amusing inasmuch as the plaque dedicated to the man who was responsible for building the modern-day Cedar Hill Golf Course in 1947 has been removed from the park-bench in which it was embedded. How can the plaque dedicated to Lyle Barnes be removed and one to the gardeners be erected? Only in Saanich you say? Thankfully.

Today was a great day for many reasons. We got the ListNote App working in my Galaxy Note 5 and we can upload the speech-to-text file now. The lady at Best Buy showed me how to upload it to Google Drive and InkPad -- two sources I can use with cut and paste. This note will stay in this phone as well.

For supper and for lunch we had coldcuts on this hot day. We saw Simone at Thrifty Foods. We went to Pro Patria Legion for a beer and while there we phoned Cameron. They are planning a vacation next April to Madrid.

Saw Janis again. She does not wear gloves, hat, earmuffs nor heavy coats and fares just swell in what we consider 'freezing' weather. Guess we're just wimps.

We had the pleasure of meeting Janis for the first time while she too was out walking. John was home working in the garden. Nice to meet you, Janis.

We saw the first Easter Lilies (Lilium longiflorum) in bloom today. This is the same time they've bloomed every year in Victoria since my boyhood. We used to pick them by hundreds but they're still here growing wild.

The Easter Lily -- the Latin name is: Lilium longiforum, is native to the southern islands of Japan and was introduced to Vancouver Island in the late nineteenth century. It's grown wild here ever since.

We heard on the 6:00 O'clock News tonight the temperature in Victoria yesterday was 12°C. The announcer stated this did not break the record from over half-a-century ago in 1963. The record from that date is 16.7°C. Did we have global warming then?

It is, however, a reminder that just because we now and then get an exceptionally warm day (like in 1963) it doesn't mean we are experiencing the effects of global warming. Some days are simply warmer than others -- and it's always been like that. It's called the weather. Deal with it.

There is an estimated Ten Trillion dollars out there for investment in fossil fuels in the near term.

There are oil producing countries that don't want any of it and prove it by their actions regulating the industry. There are, also, countries who do want this kind of investment to improve the quality of life for their citizens and these make it easy and profitable for investors to invest. World wide consumption of fossil fuels increases each year. The only decision to be made is which countries are going to continue to reap the benefits and which are going to fall by the wayside.

It's an inconvenient truth that Al Gore's doomsday predictions of Climategate Armageddon he made ten years ago in his "An Inconvenient Truth" movie have come to naught. His predictions regarding what was to happen to the world by January 26, 2016 have been proven nothing but a scam and yet the global warming religion persists in its crusade to part taxpayers from their hard-earned cash in the form of a carbon tax and undermine the economic engine of Canada.
