Colquitz Creek Greenway

East End Connector
Sunday we walked 3500m (2miles) from Royal Oak Shopping Centre to Quick's Bottom trailhead along the new Colquitz River Greenway Trail.

Bright and sunny day but the sharp wind could take your head off with the temperature at 7°C (45°F.). Yes, our cold spring continues but it pretty much shuts-up the climate-kooks. Not much global warming happening in our hood!

Saanich Parks is to be commended for the work on this trail system.

Walked Galloping Goose Trail at Selkirk Waters

Sunday we walked the Galloping Goose Trail from Harbour Road northward to the Selkirk Trestle.

The wind started to affect my right eye which had undergone cataract surgery ten days ago so we turned around and cut our walk short. Once out of the wind, that eye stopped hurting. Oh, yes, did I say it was a bit windy?

Bright, sunny at 14°C. The warmest day this year so far. Our weather now has warmed up sufficiently to that of our usual February temperatures. Funny, that during all the cold weather that is prevalent for most of North America this spring, we hear not a word about anthropogenic global warming. One wonders why? Cold weather doesn't fit the narrative perhaps? But, fear not . . . once the first warm days hit the endless cycle of the hyperbole will start again.

"Drill baby, drill is all I have to say to climatekooks.

5km Walk Finnerty, Alumni, Henderson

This morning we walked 5km roundtrip from home up through Finnerty Gardens and Alumni Trails to Henderson Recreational Centre and return via the same route.

We walked back using the Henderson chiptrail to enter the church grounds then back onto Henderson Rd northbound.

A beautiful morning at a balmy 50°F (10°C) with little wind.

We wore our light jackets but still had headbands and gloves on.
