Cycle Yuneec H Brookleigh Road to Retriever Ponds

Elk/Beaver Lake Park Thursday morning I drove to Brookleigh Road at the north end of Elk Lake with my bike and trailer.

From Fisherman's Wharf I cycled with Burley Flatbed Cargo Trailer in tow sputhbound to the Retriever Ponds beside Beaver Lake.

There I recorded some video with my Yuneec CGO3 cameras. Yes, I have two.

The whole exercise was a tes of my new equipment and how best to operate it.

I was amazed how busy this trail is with mostly walkers -- and their three dogs -- on a weekday morning. While cycling this 3km section -- inbound and outbound -- I'm sure there were some 40 others on the trail in a short window of 1½ hours.

Roots long the Alumni Trail

Sunday morning at 7:30 I cycled with 9kg of panniers up to a local trail.

The object of which was to remove some tree roots by digging, sawing and chopping to prevent them from impeding the access and egress of trail users

One smaller root was removed and some chopping done on a larger, ongoing project.

A beautiful morning for a bike ride and good exercise using the tools in my kit.

Next outing the plan is to put the loaded panniers on the Burley Flatbed Cargo Trailer

Cycled with Cameron to Kapoor Station

Sooke Campground to Kapoor Station with Burley Trailer Monday we cycled along the Galloping Goose Trail from Sooke Potholes up to Kapoor Station at the 55½km location.

I pulled my Yuneec Typhoon 500+ quadcopter on my new Burley Flatbed Trailer behind my Norco XFR bike.

Yes, we have pictures-to-prove-it -- and video

Drone Aerial of Kapoor Regional Park

These aerial images show the southern. treed area of Kapoor Regional Park at the northern end of the Galloping Goose Trail (GGT). Kapoor Regional Park encompasses all the land -- between the trail and the Sooke River -- from this southern section all the way up to its northern end at the Victoria Water District Treatment Area (watershed) fence. The watershed (red) gate is located at the 57km location of the GGT.

The former site of the Kapoor Lumber Company Ltd. sawmill is inaccessible to the public because it is located in what is now the Victoria District Water Treatment Area (watershed) under the direction of the Capital Regional District (CRD).

The directors of the Kapoor Lumber Company Ltd. were (c.1929) Mayo Singh. Kapoor Singh, Managing Director, Ganda Singh, Secretary and Paymaster, Ganea Singh is Mill Superintendent and Doman Singh is Wood Superintendent.

First Cycle with Burley Flatbed Trailer

Once my Burley Flatbed Trailer arrived at the store I didn't waste any more time putting it to good use. Some may recall me mentioning it was bought to transport my drone(s) (quadcopter and hexacopter) to remote locations for aerial photography and videography.

Both my Yuneec Typhoon copters have 4k, gimbal mounted cameras on them. Here's a VIDEO links if you are interested in taking a look. We plan on cycling with the trailer and one of the copters up to Leechtown soon.

Cycled Interurban/Colquitz/Panama Flats Trail

Room With a View Tuesday I cycled 12km (7½miles) roundtrip along the scenic section of the Interurban Trail in the Municipality of Saanich.

Picking up the trail at Tillicum Mall (near Silver City Theatre) I cycled northbound to Mann Road. This section passes through Panama Flats. Panama Flats is totally flooded six month of the year but during the dry months, users have access to a labyrinth of serpentine trails.

I took a wrong turn while trying to return to the main trail and have a video to prove it.
Panama Flats is an undeveloped, recreational area located in Saanich which is a municipality in Greater Victoria, BC, Canada
The video was recorded using a GoPro Hero camera mounted on a bicycle's handlebars.

Cycled Newly Opened Fort Street Bike Lanes

Fort Street Dedicated Bike Lanes

Wednesday I cycled 8km to town and back (16km). I wanted to checkout the new, dedicated bike lanes on Fort Street. I had the GoPro video camera mounted on the handlebars so got some nice images from the framegrabs.
