Meeting at Tim Hortons
Bentley and I met at Tim Hortons and he recieve out handoff of the Alskag brooch etc.. It turned out Clive was there s joined us with his friend Rod. Both are avid cyclistsnow, among other things.
Clive owned a Beechcraft V-tail Bonanza V-35a/i back in the 80s. After I left to be with my invalid wife at home, Bentley sent this update after Terry joined them.

DJI Mini Flight Tuesday march 15 (not 16)

It was a grand day at a balmy 12°C. — sunshine and no wind.
The launch site was beside Landing Lane which is the access road to Langford Lake boatramp.
Who owns this building is still a mystery but my people are all over finding out.

Flying MSFS 2020
Hi Eric,
I finally learned how to land the MSFS Carenado Mooney M20r. Yes, have a video-to-prove-it. Short and sweet. https://youtu.be/DKFp3iJJS6k
Bill
P.S. After ten-hours of trying still can't get the M20r to intercept the localizer using APP. Buggah — as Pete says :-))

Walked Selkirk flew to Tofino CYAZ
We walked Selkirk Trestle from Tyee Rd under sunny skies.
It was a balmy 12°C (56°F)
We drove Dallas Rd and home for lunch at 12;30
SharBen surprised us with a visit to drop off a piece of homemade 30th anniversary cake. We ate it as soon as we got it to our home.
I flew the new Mooney Ovation from Boundary Bay to Tofino in VFR under marginal conditions.

Tom's Former Home in Victoria

Wednesday we went to Tom's former home on Garthland Rd in Esquimalt, BC. We were surprised to see the property in the same condition as it was some 39 years ago (when we first went there).

Flightpath Walk
Thursday we walked 9300m (9.3km or 5¾ miles) around Victoria Intl. Airport (CYYJ) under sunny skies (24C.). The wife and I walked it last month but today Walter joined us for his first circuit of the airport. I also cycled it once September 2012. My GPS tracks from two different times confirms the exact distance is 9.3km (5¾ miles) -- regardless what others say.
Apparently, what was thought to be concrete bases for benches turned out be bases for display boards. There's still only one place to sit down around the entire route and that is at the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Memorial along Mills Road. Better than nothing I guess. We take our rest sitting on highway chicanes at Stirling Way and Mills Road.
There's also only one rest room (Big John) and it is the filthiest site one could ever imagine and is a disgrace to the whole undertaking. Anyone responsible for this outrage needs psychiatric advice. Yes, I'll be sending a letter to whomever.
Other than that, the Flightpath Trail is a marvelous undertaking and enjoyable walk. The fact we can still walk is an added bonus to be sure. We finished our outing off with lunch at our legion (RCL#172) with Walter then took the rest of the day off. Just another day in paradise.

Flight Path walk

We checked around to see if our grandson was working this day but he was not found. We photographed some of the art work and hit back onto main trail at the terminal entrance.
The walking part took us 2¼ hrs. We only rested once as there are no benches along the trail. There are many concrete bases for the new benches but they have yet to be installed.
I have cycled this route in 45 minutes but this is the first time we've walked it. My wife does not cycle. After cycling the trail, my GPS showed the distance as 9.4km but the jury is still out on the official length. I heard numbers as high as 11km describing its length. Who knows? Who cares? Either way it beats working.

Click HARD once or twice to view video
Here's a video from Flight Simulator 10 (FSX) The simulator looks so much like the real thing I wonder why I bother ripping my VHS tapes to digital. I know: Because I'm in them. This flight is a Beaver DHC-2 from Lake Union in Seattle to Friday Harbor on San Juan Island, Washington State.
It rained this morning so our Ridge golf was cancelled but this afternoon it stopped so I played nine-holes at Henderson and practised a bit. Cool. Yesterday I had lunch at the University Club (formerly the Faculty Club) with alex, Charles and Alec. The luncheon was very enjoyable with much scintillating conversation.
