The All New Royal Bay Mammoths

Royal Bay Mammoth Sclupture diptych After viewing a photo in the Times Colonist I just had to drive out and look for myself.
Firstly, I drove to the original location where the the mammoths resided at the time they were vandalized.
Once again The Locals came to my rescue by statating the All-new scultures are within 100 metres of the entrance from Metchosin Road. That is: right adjacent to the road.

Driftwood Mammoth Sculpture Set Ablaze

Royal Beach Park Times Colonist July 16, 2024 Jeff Bell jbell(at)timescolonist.com Driftwood mammoth sculpture set ablaze at Colwood beach. The Colwood Fire Department was called after the driftwood mammoth statue at Royal Bay Beach was set on fire on Monday. A man was arrested Monday morning after a driftwood sculpture of mammoths on Colwood’s Royal Bay Beach was destroyed by arson. West Shore RCMP made the arrest after finding the man nearby. Colwood Fire Rescue Assistant Chief Greg Chow said the sculpture of an adult and a baby mammoth was commissioned several years ago by an area developer. “Unfortunately, somebody set it ablaze this morning,” he said Monday.

The Alltrails App worked swell and was good for navigating the labirynth of trails to complete the loop.
iThe ebike performed well especialy with soft tyres. (that's tires to you)

Cycled 44km Royal Roads, Juan de Fuca Centre, Lagoon Rd

Saturday morning I cycled 44km roundtrip from home to Royal Roads and back.

On the way I circled around Juan de Fuca Golf Course and looked for a shortcut to Belmont Park Military Housing. No joy.

I then headed down Ocean Blvd and also missed the shortcut trail into Belmont Park. It connects to Lascelle Cr. and College Rd that leads directly into Hatley Park (aka Royal Roads).

So I carried on along Ocean Blvd and along Esquimalt Lagoon and up Lagoon Rd to Heatherbell Rd and the gate into Royal Roads property.

I rode the trails in the park down along the seashore then up in front of the castle and exited along College Rd (where I wanted to enter at) and back out using Belmont Road, Ocean Blvd and Wale Rd back to the Galloping Goose Trail

I will do this ride again only next time will cut out the Lagoon part by following the correct connectors into Royal Roads.

N.B. I used the Maclennan Connector to get from the E&N Rail Trail back onto The Goose after dropping off a birthdays card for Amos.

Township of View RoyalThe Township of View Royal Island Highway Ribbon Cutting, Sunday, October 2, 2011, 11a.m. to 1p.m. Four Mile House Bar & Grill.

View Royal (VR) Township Mayor Graham Hill and each of VR's four councillors were in attendance. What a wonderful event commemorating this monumental achievement by this small but vibrant community.

Ancient Art of Stone artists: Naomi Zettl & Andreas Kunert were in attendance with their two children. What a charming couple. What a marvelous piece of art they have created for us and several generation to come. View Royal's citizens are to be commended for their foresight in commissioning such a great artist to create for us all this lasting monument to the real value of being Canadians first, British Columbians and Vancouver Islanders second and being members of a caring community. The people of View royal care about the future and are taking steps to make it better -- and to show others the way.

View Royal Town Council is composed of a Mayor and four (4) Councillors:
