An expansion ride today (I guess we could call it that) to the Airport, circling it but couldn't land so we made tracks through Sidney.

---

Six of us until Ron deked out to bargain hunt, and then there were five. Probably about 60k for most of us, and an amazing workout for Ted (well done Ted!).

---

Disrupter Grant has suggested a ride to an eatery in Metchosin next week.

---

And I'll propose Chemainus to Ladysmith after that.

Saturday morning 12 Bravehearts departed the Swith Bridge at 10am heading NW bound to Langford, BC.

This day's ride was lead by Larry and although riding an acoustic bicycle sets a grueling pace.

---

After some 12km the first stop was at Poncho's Coffee House in Goldstream Village.

---

From here it was continuing NW along Goldstream Avenue to Ed Nixon Trailhead.

---

After traversing the 2.2km trail, it was east bound along Goldstream Ave. to the E&N Rail Trailhead at the main intersection.

---

It was a great ride on a great day. (Yes, some got caught in the downpour from the nimbus cell) So?

As seen on Thursday walk from Estevan Village to Willows Beach

Oak Bay, B.C. – Crews from Don Mann Excavating have constructed an outfall at Willows Beach at the end of Estevan Avenue. This work is part of the District of Oak Bay’s Estevan Utilities Project, which includes the replacement of storm and water mains along Estevan Avenue from Willows.

While in the hood, I tried the fish from Willows Galley Fish & Chips in Estevan Village. Very good cod at a reasonable $9.95 price. Finest-at-Sea on Erie Street charges $16.95 for one piece of cod.

I arrived by Benz at the Heights at Mount View (HMV) longterm carehome 10:11am and left at lunch with SharBen who also came with card and love to visit after their kirkin'.

CamMich came in afternoon with flowers and card. Mumma had a fine Mother's Da.y

---

I cycled to Joel's at Play Fair Park in afternoon and rode to HMV 338 at 2:29pm afterward.

---

She kicked me out at 3:09pm when man-care-aid came on duty. He will take her panties down and put on her Depends at bedtime — the highlight of Bernice's day no doubt.(and his)

I enjoyed the new, circuitous route I followed to our grandson's (36yr) home and afterward to join the Lochside Trail.

---

It was: Shelbourne Dedicated Bike Lane to Derby Rd. and up through Cedar Hill Golf Course.

---

Then northward along Salisbury Way to east on Tattersall Drv. then north along Kathleen St.

---

Leaving Play Fair Park eastbound along Rock St. to Quadra St. then north to Lochside Trail at Greenridge Crs.

---

Thanks to Bravehearts' leader, Ken for showing me most of this route while on one of our Saturday rides.

Short 5/9/26 Video 

 Saturday, Bravehearts had their usual weekend ride with their band-of-brothers.

15 restless riders completed the 20+km loop. Some GPS tracks from homes and back, added up to approximately 35km. It was pretty straightforward: out The Goose to Atkins Station at the 10km Marker and inbound on the E&N Rail Trail for coffee break at Shoal Point in downtown Victoria.

---

After coffee, Grant, Rick and Bill headed eastbound riding the Victoria Seaside Touring route around to Cadboro Bay area where all live within a kilometre of each other.

Bravehearts 17.7km Loop by Bill To Bravehearts Wednesday ride and rest at Shoal Point, Bill took the Pandora Ave. bike route inbound.

From Fraser Tolmie Apartment he has more-than-a-few optional routes.

Attendees this day were Ken, Kevin, Michael, Bill, Grant and his wife, Janice.

---

Janice is recovering and apparently doing well after her left-leg injury received doing yard work at their beautiful, Cadboro Bay home.

---

Bill and Janice had at least one thing in common having both attended S.J. Willis Junior High School.

---

Albeit two decades apart, both were cognizant of the additional education regimen endured by those of Chinese descent. The many S.J.W. students of Chinese descent had to attend at the Chinese School on Fisgard St. in downtown Victoria after completing a day at S.J.W.. This meant double the studies and double the homework. No wonder these individuals were so smart!

After our gathering each dispersed snd went their separate ways. Bill got to ride with Ken northwest bound around the Inner Harbour and along Government St. to Gorge Rd East. Bill broke off for the Shelbourne Bike Lane and home at Jutland Rd by riding the Finlayson Road East/West Connector dedicated bike lanes.

 Bravehearts Saturday May 2nd ride was once again under the leadership of Ken

Ken led the 12 riders from the Switch Bridge (SB) to Oak Bay Marina Dockside Bakery (aka Coffee Shop).

---

The weather was fantastic; our first 2026 ride without winter accoutrements. (accouterments is US spelling)

---

Bill's daughter and son'n'law walked over to meet Ken and get informed of everyone's CV from dad.

---

Sharon & Bentley down-sized from house-to-condo some years back a live 200m from the Marina.

---

After great conversation and hilarious jokes (Rick?), we each departed our chosen routes to home.

---

The Three Amigos trio was disrupted by Grant's need to get home to his injured wife. (who, BTW is recovering well)

---

So Bruce and Bill took Victoria's Seaside Touring Route which is a 39km loop showcasing the city's south-facing shoreline through James Bay, Fairfield and Oak Bay.

---

Coincidentally, 39.5km was the distance recorded for Bill's total length-of- ride from his home and back. The distance of ride from the SB was recorded as 31.2km

---

The difference in recorded lengths is due to the fact Bill rides from home and heads firstly to his wife's residents at The Heights at Mountview (HMV) longtem carehome. HMV is some 400m from the SB.
